Question:: Does gender effect an individual's short term iconic and echoic memory?
Background Info:What is memory? Memory is a complex brain process that helps us learn and store information in our brains. There are two categories of memory: long-term and short term. Yet even within these divisions are subcategories of long-term memory. For this experiment, we will create a survey to find a correlation between short term memory and gender. Short term memory is closely related to sensory memory, which we will be testing. Echoic memory refers to things we hear while iconic memory refers to things we see. Though we have three other senses, it is commonly known that we are most sensitive to and depend mostly on our sight and hearing.
Hypothesis: In the Korea International High School, both genders will score equally for both echoic and iconic short term memory tests.
Procedure: Our group will be making separate iconic and echoic memory tests to analyze which gender has better memory in different factions. We will be testing three boy and three girls from each grade.

Echoic Memory Test:
Story:I went to Darlington, an enormous town, with iron fences, big oak trees, and an old square courthouse. I stood in front of old courthouse happily. On the west side of the courthouse stood the Deluxe Cafe. It was a new café and I have never seen it before. They were displaying a new ice cream venue. The front window said AIR CONDITIONED in icy letters. It was a hot day and I wanted to go inside, but I didn’t. The sign was lit neon above the door in red. On the east of the courthouse, stood my favorite clothing shop American Eagle. All these stores looked luxurious, but I was here for a different reason. I was here because I was going to court. I was being charged for murder. I was innocent so I had nothing to worry about. I stepped into the courtroom. The walls were covered with the Gettysburg Address, Declaration of Independence, Pledge of Allegiance, a picture of a winged Jesus. The floor was plastered with hexagonal floor tiles. Two police officers carried me into the room where I was to be sentenced. I walked into the courtroom with a smile knowing I was innocent. I was proven guilty.
